Instructions for Placing a Badge on Your Site
- All participants in #FridayFlash may place a badge on the personal website or blog where their #FridayFlash stories are posted. You do not need to be a member of this FFDO site, but we do encourage you to join. (Click here to join now.)
- Copy the image from this page and paste it into your site. (More detailed instructions are below under the Technical Assistance heading.)
- Make the image on your page link to the FFDO home page. The URL is

Technical Assistance
Getting the Badge Picture: Right click on the badge on this page and choose Save Image As from the pop-up menu. Save the image to your hard drive.
Putting the Badge on a Blogger sidebar: From the Blogger Dashboard go to Design and then Page Elements. Click on Add a Gadget and choose the Picture gadget. Upload the copy of the picture that you saved to your hard drive. Put the address of the FFDO home page in as the link. The URL is http://fridayflash.org/press/ Note: If your template does not have a picture gadget, you might use a text gadget and the instructions for Putting the Badge on Your Home Page below.
Putting the Badge on a WordPress sidebar: From the WordPress Dashboard go to Media and then Add New. Upload the copy of the picture that you saved to your hard drive. Copy the address that the image is uploaded to. It should look something like http://yourblogname.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/main-write1.png and you need that address for the next step. From the Dashboard go to Appearance and then Widgets. Drag an Image widget to your sidebar. Enter image URL (the address you just uploaded to). Put the address of the FFDO home page in as the link. The URL is http://fridayflash.org/press/ Note: If your theme does not have an image widget, you might use a text widget and the instructions for Putting the Badge on Your Home Page below.
Putting the Badge on Your Home Page: Upload the image to your site. Do not link directly to the image on this site. Place the image on your home page or in a sidebar and make the image a link to the FFDO home page. The HTML should look something like <a href="http://fridayflash.org/press/"><img src="http://www.yoursitename.com/images/main-write1.png" /></a>

How do I submit a Flash?
Write a piece of flash fiction, defined as 1000 words or less, post it to your blog, add the link into the #fridayflash Collector, and then on Friday announce it to the world via Twitter or some other social network along with the link to your post.
